Audio Recording Consultation

From picking the best room in the house to record vocals, to specing out equipment for a pro studio build, or giving mix advice, Matt teaches the principles of making a great sounding recording and how to get the most out of your rig.

Some topics include:

- Purchasing advice and studio setup

- Room acoustics and treatment recommendations

- General audio/digital audio (sample rates, bit depth, signal flow, AD/DA conversion...) 

- Pro Tools (editing, automation, using plug-ins...)

- Computer related issues (general troubleshooting, optimization for recording, understanding and resolving errors)

- How to make a record (workflow, production techniques and best practices)

- Microphone choice and placement technique

- Effects processing technique (EQ, compression, delay, etc.)

- Mixing and Mastering technique

Stem Mastering With Feedback

Get your mix as far as you can by yourself, then export up to 10 stems* of the separate elements of your mix.  Send those stems to Matt and he’ll make any final tweaks and add overall polish.   Then schedule a video call where he’ll go over the changes he’s made, show you the plugins and settings he used, and give you pointers on how to improve your sound in the future.

*Here’s an example break down of stems. This will vary depending on the production. :
