Matt has been playing the drum kit for a long time…a quarter of a century. He was influenced early-on by the alternative pop and rock that formed the core of mid-90s MTV culture. Carter Beauford’s powerful, syncopated grooves and Tre Cool’s frantic punk explosions were the first in a long line of players and sounds that would shape Matt’s approach and play style. From his high school love of Rock and Metal to his Berklee-curated immersion in Jazz, Funk and Latin styles, and his post-collegiate dive into Afrobeat, Reggae, and various hand percussion techniques, there are very few settings in which Matt doesn’t feel at home making rhythms.
